But Zhongli finds the others attempt to be endearing at least amber eyes widening slightly at the suddenness of that hug. But instead of looking serious, there's a soft smile on his features as he gives Jiro's head a small pat and pet. The manna exchange is nice and he knows it can only help benefit the young man so he'll let him hug him. ]

Are you feeling better? The manna exchange should be sufficient enough that you may walk.

[Jiro didn't see the smile, but for some reason Zhongli's pat on his head almost made him tear up. That's just what Ichiro would do when he'd done a good job aand that's what.....well, if he had a dad, maybe this is what it would've felt like.

He found he didn't really want to let go, though the manna was making him feel better.]

Um...probably. Don't wanna stand up right now.

[ It's a curious and strange thing to see. The only ones he's ever pat on the head before were his yaksha, Xiao and Ganyu, for him it was natural to do it since he was there for their development and raising. But he's never done it for a human before. It does make him a touch more protective and given his gem that also enhances those feelings to an extent. ]

Then a little while longer. I will carry you if you wish as well.

[He didn't answer. He felt that if he answered, said anything, Zhongli would let go and Jiro didn't want that. It reminded him of how Ichiro hugged him when he woke up with nightmares, how he was pat on the head when he did a good job, every scrap of affection he begged out of someone who shouldn't have been raising him in the first place.]

Don't....leave me. My dad, he just left like a fuckin' coward and won't even act like he's sorry. Can you just.....

[ Zhongli has no concept of parenthood nor does he know much of what Jiro is feeling. But he does want to try and learn, grow, and even be able to sympathize with humans more. So his grip around Jiro doesn't loosen and will instead tighten slightly. ]

I am unfamiliar with many things that humans go through but I...will not let go until you wish for me to do so.

[He wanted to know why Rei just left. Why he hung around and kept bothering Aniki, maybe even if he still loved them deep inside. But it was hard to think about when all he saw was the pain that he'd caused his brothers and himself. Zhongli didn't know anything about him, about humans apparently, and he was still holding Jiro the same gentle way Ichiro did after he had a nightmare.]

I miss them.....

[There was more he was going to say but his energy was fading fast. His eyes slipped closed as he tried to pull himself closer to Zhongli's embrace, falling asleep from the warmth.]

You are as well. And seeing how it affects you I have come to learn that you are quite resilient in your own way. [ Zhongli might not get humans all that much but he does get loneliness and abandonment quite well. ]

There are those that I miss as well.

[ He will murmur silently as he watches and feels Jiro drift off. Once the young man is finally asleep he will shift him to carry him on his back and back to his home. Using one of the two spare bedrooms to let the other sleep. ]
