▶ tdm prompts [ It's been almost two weeks since the end of the Nuckelavee, and the curses brought along with it. He's mostly just about back to normal in terms of physical recovery, too, thanks to Zhongli's obsessive care.
Things should be fine, the monster transformations have ended, it's the beginning of a new month which usually guarantees a few days of normalcy. Yet, somehow, things... aren't. There's an unshakable agitation that Childe's been battling this morning and he hasn't been able to shake it since despite doing his best to preoccupy himself in the kitchen. The truth is that the Harbinger is so incredibly agitated and irritable that even his own actions are causing him discontent. He's annoyed that the water is taking too long to boil and the fresh ingredients that have been cut and are now waiting on it are suffering from not being poached immediately, he's unhappy with the way the wok is not to the ideal temperature or coated consistently to avoid ingredients catching and sticking to the sides to dry, he's pissed these vegetables aren't cutting smoothly enough, and the fish and meat are just not being sliced correctly for optimal flavor and texture.
He almost loses his patience when he hears Zhongli (who else could it be) enter the kitchen, momentarily distracting him enough that he slips and has his hand just too close to the blade of the knife and slices a finger open.
Cursing in Snezhnayan, Childe shifts hold and on the knife and brings it down violently at point to dig into the cutting board, missing stabbing into the back of his injured hand by the blade barely slipping through spread fingers and only slicing into the cartilage between them where they connect.
Completely uncalled for rage behavior, and uncharacteristic for Childe anywhere expect in the heat of conflict, the only place his rage can normally consume him.
Further uncharacteristic is that he has no words for Zhongli, not even a cranky good morning. ]
